Country-Wise Guidelines for International Travel Restrictions During COVID-19 

*Updated as on 14.06.2021*

1. Australia 

Entry Regulations

- Only the following groups are allowed to enter the country: 
o Australian citizens 
o Permanent residents (PR) 
o Immediate family member of a citizen/PR
o A New Zealand citizen with domicile in Australia, and their immediate family members 
o Diplomats holding a subclass 995 visa o Airline and maritime crew members 
o Employees recruited under the Seasonal Worker Program or Pacific Labour Scheme 
o Holders of a subclass 188 visa 
o Travellers from New Zealand who have been in New Zealand 14 days prior to travel

Quarantine Regulations

- Mandatory 14 days quarantine for all passengers arriving

 2Canada

Entry Regulations

- Only the following groups are allowed to enter the country: 

- All passengers must provide their details prior to arriving or leaving Canada via ArriveCAN 
- For more information, visit: Canada.ca/ArriveCAN 
- Travelers must provide their travel and contact information, quarantine plan and COVID-19 symptom     self- assessment. 
- All passengers 5 years of age or older are required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19         molecular test result. 
- If the passenger has had COVID-19 and has recovered, but is still testing positive, they will be     permitted to board with a positive test result providing it was administered at least 14 days but not         more than 90 days from the scheduled departure of a flight to Canada. 
- Documentation of a negative laboratory test result must be presented to the airline prior to boarding a   flight to Canada. The test must be performed using a COVID-19 molecular polymerase chain                  reaction (or PCR) test and must be taken within 72 hours prior to scheduled departure to Canada.

Quarantine Regulations

- 14 days quarantine upon arrival

- covid19/students.html - Students are advised to also get the confirmation from the respective institute about their travel so that there are no issues during immigration process. 
- Please find the link to the latest Government of Canada travel requirements for flying into the country - https://travel.gc.ca/travelcovid/travelrestrictions/flying - No passengers will be accepted for Canada via Frankfurt due to unavailability of COVID testing facility in the international transit area at Frankfurt Airport. 

3. United States of America (USA)

Entry Regulations

- Only the following groups are allowed to enter the country: 

- The entry into the United States, as nonimmigrants, of non-citizens who were physically present within the Republic of India during the 14- day period preceding their entry or attempted - A passenger has to ensure that the personal identifiers (i.e., name and date of birth) on the negative Qualifying 34 entry into the United States is hereby suspended and limited

The following groups of passengers are allowed to enter the US:

1. any lawful permanent resident of the United States 
2. any noncitizen national of the United States 
3. any noncitizen who is the spouse of a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident 
4. any noncitizen who is the parent or legal guardian of a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, provided that the U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident is unmarried and under the age of 21 
5. any noncitizen who is the child, foster child, or ward of a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, or who is a prospective adoptee seeking to enter the United States pursuant to the IR -4 or IH -4 visa classifications

- Indian citizens seeking to travel on outbound Air India flights to the US, on the basis of their F1 visas, for higher studies may NOT be able to USA on the current Air India repatriation flights under Mission Vande Bharat if:

1. For M category visa has less than 6months validity from the date of your planned departure. 
2. You are a new admission case and have not as yet joined your educational institution before the COVID- 19 outbreak. (Explanation: New admittees for the 2020 Fall term in US educational institutions are advised to consider deferring travel to the US to a date closer to the opening date of their institution, subject to local public health conditions.) 
3. In the case of continuing students, who are making normal progress in their course of study and may have left the US to visit India before India's Lockdown commenced, MUST check with their Designated School Officials to confirm the school's operational status. Alternatively, they may obtain guidance on the school’s policy for foreign students returning to the US. In such cases, students MAY ONLY attempt to travel to the US with written documentary confirmation that the school is open. Without such documentation, even if continuing students have valid F or M visas, they may not be permitted to board an out bound flight 

Additional Information 

- A passenger has to ensure that the personal identifiers (i.e., name and date of birth) on the negative Qualifying Test result match the personal identifiers on the passenger’s passport or other travel documents. The test performed was a viral test (i.e., A nucleic acid amplification test or a viral antigen test) approved or authorized by the relevant national authority for the detection of SARS - CoV -2. 
- The test result sates “Negative, “SARSCoV -2 RNA NOT DETECTED,” “SARS - CoV - 2 ANTIGEN NOT DETECTED,” OR “COVID - 19 NOT DETECTED.” A test Marked “invalid” is not acceptable

- Any passenger who fails to comply with the requirements or wilfully giving false or misleading information may be subject to/result in applicable criminal penalties
